Correcting Migration Errors

To export your data with the migration tool, first, you'll need to format your Salesforce IQ data for Salesforce. Each time the migration tool finds an error, use the table to find the error code, its definition and our instructions on how to fix it to correct your data.

After you correct the error, empty the Recycle Bin in Salesforce and you'll run the tool again until your migration is successful.

If you don't see your error listed, please reference the Salesforce Exception Codes to get a better understanding of what is happing and contact us with the text of the error that is displayed.

Error Meaning How to Fix
com.sforce.ws.SoapFaultException: '20160-11-04T00:00:00.000Z' is not a valid value for the type xsd:date This means that you have an invalid date in your list that Salesforce is unable to validate. Visit the relationship in your SalesforceIQ list and fix the invalid date in the appropriate field.
CUSTOM_ENTITY_OR_FIELD_LIMIT Every Salesforce instance can only have so many custom fields on their objects. The Group/Essentials edition only allows a total of 100 custom fields. While migrating your data from SalesforceIQ to Salesforce, you are likely trying to create more than the allowed field limit. Go to your Salesforce instance's Setup page. Make sure that the number of custom fields on objects, including deleted ones, do not exceed the organization's allowed maximum number. If it does, delete as many fields required. *Note: You will need to be in Salesforce Classic instead of the Lightning Experience.
DUPLICATE_VALUE If the migration fails with this error, Salesforce detected a duplicate picklist option in one or more of your picklist fields in SalesforceIQ. Salesforce does not allow for duplicate picklist options. Visit the picklist field in SalesforceIQ and remove all duplicate picklist options.
Error: Oh, oh! Something unexpected has happened. List name contains special characters. Remove any special characters that are included in the names of yours lists (i.e. asterisks (*), pipes (|), or ampersands (&)).
